Chimelong Water Park (长隆水上乐园) is the aquatic flagship of the Chimelong Tourist Resort in Panyu, Guangzhou — and for years it has ranked among the most-visited water parks on the planet. That tells you two things before you even arrive: the slides are world-class, and the queues can be real. Come prepared for both. The park is designed around a giant central wave pool with its own beach, with slide towers rising around it like a skyline.
The rhythm of a good day here is a rotation: a lap of the lazy river to reset, a climb up the towers while the sun is high, then back to the water's edge when the wave bell rings. In summer the park runs late — lights, music and night sessions that feel closer to a festival than a swim. And when the air cools, heated water stretches the season at both ends of the calendar.

The heart of the park: a wave pool the size of a small bay, fronted by its own stretch of beach. When the bell sounds, the swell rolls in and the whole crowd rises with it. Swim past the break for the push, or stand knee-deep and let it knock you over — both are correct answers.
Multi-story slide towers ring the pool like a skyline — funnel rides, bowl rides and speed lanes that end in splash canyons you can hear from across the park. Pick your line by the screams. The tallest towers are best ridden early, before the queues find their afternoon rhythm.

Getting there
Line 3 or Line 7 to Hanxi Changlong Station — the resort is signposted from the exit, with a short shuttle or walk to the water park gates. The easiest route from anywhere in Guangzhou.
Roughly 30–40 minutes from central Guangzhou depending on traffic. Resort parking fills early on summer weekends — arrive with the opening crowd or come for the night session.
The Safari Park, Circus and resort hotels sit next door. A classic split: animals in the morning, water in the afternoon, and a circus or night session to finish.
